I am experienced in complex psychiatry and neurology. I practice with simplicity, compassion, and patience.
Work Experience:
I first worked in an integrative health clinic in Seattle where I was leading and teaching cutting-edge psychiatric care within a patient population experiencing comorbidities including certain cancers and endocrine disorders. After completing my residency at that clinic, I maintained a small, successful private practice in Kirkland for a couple years treating clients across the lifespan, with a special focus on teens and young adults. After realizing I couldn’t be everything to everyone and that I needed a team, as well as craving deeper understanding in the neurological aspect of care, I began working in a rural community setting treating comorbid psychiatric and neurological disorders, including those seen in epilepsy, functional neurological disorders, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, and others.
Volunteer Service:
Before becoming a registered nurse and later earning my nurse practitioner license, I volunteered a large portion of my time serving incarcerated and at-risk youth, cancer patients, and people with mobility and sensory challenges.
Personal Background:
I am from an Indian-American, Punjabi Sikh family. My parents are first generation immigrants to the United States. Selfless service is a value I was taught from childhood. I am honored and privileged by the work I have gotten to do so far.
I am from the Pacific Northwest. I was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I am a proud dual citizen of the USA and Canada. And I am thankful for our beautiful rain and mountains!
Education and Credentials:
I have a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Washington. I earned my Masters of Science in Nursing from Seattle University. I problem solve using a systems-thinking approach.
I am board certified by the ANCC in psychiatric care across the lifespan.
